No matter what level of diy experience you have, having the ability to build wooden boxes for the myriad of different uses is not only going to save you money, but will allow you to store you goods in something far more classical than a standard plastic storage box or tupperware.

There are so many different box plans to choose from raning from jewellery boxes to linen boxes and everything inbetween.  When working with wood, you have the ability to create something special and unique.  The wood that you choose will determine what you can make and the durability as well as it’s versatility.

Although woodworking can be done by just about anyone, it is a good idea to find a wide selection of plans, so that you can assess exactly what level of experience you are going to need for the various projects you undertake.  Woodworking and carpetry is a constant learning process and having a good selection of plans will make your hobby or part time income that much more rewarding.

With box making, there are very few tools that you will be required to have to produce excellent results.  If you are just starting out on a new hobby it’s a good idea to buy just a few key tools that you know will make the job easier, as time goes on, you will develop a collection of different tools that you love and that will work well for you.
